Independence

Our recommendations are based on reader fit and documented editorial criteria—not commission rate. Affiliate relationships may fund the site but do not buy placement.

Evidence

We distinguish research from hands-on testing. We do not claim to have used a product unless we have, and we do not copy retailer descriptions or customer reviews. Factual and safety-related claims require appropriate sources.

How we rank

Relevant factors can include age and skill fit, illustration complexity, variety, medium compatibility, page usability, gifting fit, and value. Criteria and their importance change with the guide’s reader.

Updates and corrections

Commercial guides should show when they were last checked. Material errors should be corrected promptly and transparently. Product availability alone does not determine whether a recommendation remains useful.
